June awards for O'Connell and Clarke

Clare hurling captain Brian O'Connell and Armagh forward Ronan Clarke have been named as the GPA/Opel Players of the Month for June.

O'Connell has been rewarded for leading the Bannermen to their first provincial hurling final in nine years.

Clare have already seen off Waterford and Limerick and now face Tipperary in the Munster final on Sunday.

Clarke, meanwhile, has picked up the football award for helping Armagh reach the Ulster football final. His partnership with Steven McDonnell in the inside-forward line has been one of the highlights of the summer so far.

Only Fermanagh now stand between the Orchard County and a seventh Anglo-Celt Cup in nine years.
