Galway camogie star Therese Maher has called time on her inter-county career.

Maher spent 16 seasons lining out for the westerners and last year finally won an All-Ireland senior medal after victory over Kilkenny in the decider. She was named player of the match in that game.

Prior to that the 33-year-old was on the losing team in five finals - the first of those was back in 1997.

Maher will continue to play for her club Athenry.
