The opening series of matches in the Irish Daily Star Camogie League Division 1 sees reigning champions Wexford face Offaly.
Sunday, 26 February
Cork v Kilkenny - Killeagh, 1.00pm
Both sides are under new management and will be keen to get off to a winning start. Kilkenny welcome back their WIT Ashbourne Cup winning contingent, led by Katie Power. Cork, with home advantage and a greater physical presence around the middle of the park should collect the points.
Wexford v Offaly - Belfield, Enniscorthy, 2.00pm
Offaly are another side under new management with former hurling star John Troy taking over in the Faithful County.
Although a young side, they will have learned from last year’s senior championship experience and will look forward to testing themselves against the current league and championship holders. Wexford, without their Oulart- the- Ballagh contingent, may struggle a little and Sunday’s encounter may throw up a surprise.
Dublin v Tipperary - Parnell Park, 2.30pm
Dublin endured a torrid championship and league campaign in 2011 but hopes are high that the groundwork put in by Denis Murphy will prove fruitful this year.
However, despite home advantage the Dubs face a difficult task. Tipperary, boosted by a number of their All Ireland minor winning side, should prove too strong on the day.
