Limerick’s Seanie Tobin has left the county’s hurling panel after becoming frustrated with a lack of game time.

The Murroe-Boher man has fallen out of favour with manager TJ Ryan and did not start in any of their Allianz League games this year.

He did not even make the match-day panel for their defeat to Clare on Sunday.

The forward, who has been part of the squad for the last five years, told the Limerick Leader: “This decision was not easy and was not one I wanted to make but I felt it was one I had to make for various reasons that have accumulated over time.

"I have given everything to Limerick over the last number of years and it's heartbreaking to walk away.

"I am not retiring. I am going back training with my club on Wednesday evening and looking forward to getting going with them. I wish the players all the best for the year ahead.”

Limerick will play Dublin in the league quarter-finals in Parnell Park on 2 April .
