Caolan Mooney has quit Down's senior football squad, compounding a miserable spring for the Mourne County.
Down have endured a disastrous return to Division 1, their defeat to Dublin last weekend all but ensuring they'll be heading straight back down after a torrid campaign.
Mooney has played no part in the league due to a hamstring injury, and has confirmed he will not be part of Eamonn Burns' summer plans.
The 23-year-old made his AFL debut for Collingwood in the summer of June 2012, staying Down Under for two years before returning home.
He had expressed his anger at the treatment of former manager Jim McCorry, who resigned after a vote of no confidence by the Down County Board.
