Roscommon should be looking towards a "very realistic" Connacht championship, according to Dermot Early.

Kevin McStay and Fergal O'Donnell's side are almost certain to feature in a Allianz League semi-final following their five point win over Donegal in Letterkenny.

Speaking on RTÉ’s League Sunday, the Kildare man said the side have the momentum, and the support, to challenge Mayo for provinicial honours.

Former Dublin midfielder Ciaran Whelan agreed that Roscommon are a side with a lot of quality.

Whelan said the Rossies are “extremely fit, well organised, have a good forward unit, strong midfield.”

He added that they “fully deserved” their victory over Rory Gallagher’s Donegal, who were “flat” on the day in Letterkenny.
