The Central Competitions Controls Committee has imposed a one-match ban on Neil McGee and fined both Kerry and Donegal following the ugly scenes that marred their Allianz Football League clash in Tralee.

Both counties have been fined €7,500, while McGee will miss Donegal’s home clash with Roscommon on Sunday next if the ban is handed down as expected.

The Ghaoth Dobhair clubman was involved in an incident with Kerry forward Alan Fitzgerald early on in the game at Austin Stack Park. The latter was sent off for striking McGee, but TV replays showed that the Donegal full-back pulled the hand of Fitzgerald in an aggressive manner.

Also seeing red in Tralee was Donegal’s Leo McLoone, while the Kerry duo of Shane Enright and Denis Daly were shown black cards.
