Cork defender Mark Ellis will miss the remainder of the Allianz Hurling League after breaking his arm in last Saturday’s defeat to Dublin.

The news is a further blow to the Rebels who have yet to register a point in this year’s spring campaign.

According to a report in the Evening Echo, Ellis may not recover in time for Cork’s Munster championship opener against Tipperary on 22 May. He is set to undergo an operation today (Tuesday).

Rebels manager also revealed that Cian McCarthy will be sidelined for a few weeks with a broken thumb and a broken finger.
