The Limerick senior and Under-21 hurlers have been dealt a blow after corner-back Sean Finn was ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament tear.

The Bruff man suffered the injury while lining out for UL last week in the Fitzgibbon Cup against Mary Immaculate College.

Finn excelled for the Under-21s on their way to the All-Ireland title in 2015 and was subsequently called up to the senior ranks by manager TJ Ryan for the Munster senior hurling league in January, playing three of their four matches.

He was expected to feature for the Treaty county in their League opener against Wexford this weekend.
