Bryan Sheehan has been nominated as Kerry football captain for 2016.

The St Mary's clubman has been put forward for the position by county champions South Kerry.

Sheehan, who previously led the Kingdom in 2010, and who made his championship debut against Tipperary in 2005, has made 60 championship appearances in the green and gold scoring 6-53.

The nomination of the five-time All-Ireland winner will be ratified at the next meeting of the Kerry County Committee.
