Tom Daly pulls out of GAA presidential race

Former Ulster Council president Tom Daly has pulled out of the race to become the next GAA president.

The Donegal man revealed that he came to the decision after considering the demands of the position in relation to his professional and personal commitments.

'Having assessed the situation fully, I have decided not to contest the election,' Daly said in a statement.

'In making this decision, I have had to balance both personal and professional commitments against the three-year, full-time and intense level of commitment that the GAA presidency entails.

'I deeply appreciate my nomination for this prestigious position and the many offers of support which I have received from throughout the Association.'
