As Des Cahill presents RTÉ Radio’s Olympics coverage from Beijing, Bertie Ahern and Brian Gleeson will anchor three episodes of The Road to Croker.

The former Taoiseach will guest-present from An Gaeltacht in Kerry on Thursday 21 August ahead of the Kingdom’s All-Ireland semi-final clash with Cork. Guests will include Kerry legend Páidí Ó Sé and his three GAA All Star nephews Darragh, Tomás and Marc.

Gleeson presented the first show from Newbridge Sarsfields in Kildare last Thursday and the RTÉ betting analyst will also present the next show from Mullinahone in Tipperary this Thursday.

Cahill has complete confidence in his able deputies: ‘As Brian transfers his broadcasting experience from the race track to the GAA club and with Bertie’s proven love and knowledge of GAA, I’ve no doubt that I’m leaving the show in safe hands.’
