Wexford hurler passes away

Martin Codd, a member of the successful Wexford hurling panel from the 1950s, has died.

Mr Codd won two All-Irelands, firstly as a substitute in 1955 before lining out at centre-forward in the team that famously beat Cork in 1956.

In all, the Rathnure native played for his county from 1949 to 1965 before embarking on a popular showband career.
