GAA agrees scheme for player grants

The GAA's Central Council has approved the finalised scheme for the Government grants system.

The matter will now be discussed at the association's Annual Congress at Croke Park on 11 and 12 April.

In a brief statement this afternoon, the GAA said it has also agreed to continue discussions with their Australian counterparts regarding the re-introduction of the International Rules series.

The future of the competition looked bleak following the outcry over the violence that marred the last series in November 2006.
