Meath and Cork clash called off
Updated: Wednesday, 30 Jan 2008 18:50
The Central Competition's Control Committee of the GAA have confirmed that the Meath and Cork Allianz Football League clash will not go ahead as planned.
The CCCC confirmed the decision in a statement but declined to say whether the game, due to take place this Saturday in Navan, has been postponed or abandoned all together.
The on-going players strike in Cork, over the decision of the board to take away manager's abilities to appoint their own selectors and football manager Billy Morgan's subsuequent exit, shows no sign of ending and talks between the players and the board have been unable to find a break through.
