Cork talks end without agreement
Sunday, 27 January 2008 15:26Cork's participation in this year's national hurling and football leagues and possibly even their participation in the All-Ireland Championships is in serious doubt.
This follows the the break-up of talks between player representatives and the Cork County Board, which were chaired by the Labour Relations Commission chief executive Kieran Mulvey.
The row centres on a decision by the county board to change the way selectors are appointed to the county's senior football and hurling teams.
Mr Mulvey held 18 hours of talks with both sides on Friday night and all day yesterday but they ended last night without agreement.
