Kilkenny champions Ballyhale Shamrocks advanced to the semi-finals of the AIB Leinster Club Hurling Championship with a five point victory over Carlow champions Mount Leinster Rangers.

The victors produced a far from vintage performance without the services of the injured Henry Shefflin and James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick, with Patrick Reid's eighth minute goal the main highlight of an otherwise average outing.

Tipperary champions Loughmore-Castleiney secured their passage into the semi-finals of the AIB Munster Club Hurling Championship with a hard fought one goal win over Cork champions Erin's Own at Semple Stadium.

Eddie Connolly found the net for the Tipperary outfit in the ninth minute to give his side a 1-05 to 0-05 half-time lead, but David McGrath's goal in the 50th minute turned the game in the Tipp' champions' favour.

Tulla 4-16 Lixnaw 2-06
(Clare)      (Kerry)

Clare champions Tulla overpowered Kerry's Lixnaw in this one-sided AIB Munster Senior Club Championship semi-final.

Three goals inside the first ten minutes put Tulla in the driving seat. James Flaherty responded with a major for Lixnaw but the Kingdom side still trailed 3-09 to 1-04 at the break.

Flaherty hit a respectable 1-04, but that was not enough to fill the hole left by ace marksman Michael Conway, who missed out with a broken wrist.

Lixnaw notched a consolation goal through Enda Galvin but even that was cancelled out by a Danny O'Halloran strike at the other end.

Tulla are rewarded with a clash against Waterford champions Ballyduff Upper in the semi-final.

Ballyduff Upper claimed their third Waterford Senior Hurling Championship title with a four point win over Ballygunner in the County final.

The victors led by 1-11 to 0-08 at the break following Patrick Kearney's first half goal, but despite Stephen Power's second half strike, Ballyduff Upper were not to be denied their first title since 1997.

Elsewhere, Clare champions Tulla advanced to the last four of the Munster Club Hurling Championship with a 4-16 to 2-06 win over Kerry champions Lixnaw.

On Saturday, Mayo champions James Stephens and their Roscommon counterparts Athleague must meet again after drawing 0-13 to 2-07 in the AIB Connacht Club Hurling Championship semi-final.
