Blood rule introduced for new season

The National Referee's committee has announced that the Blood Rule will come into affect for this year's championship. This means that if a player leaves the field to receive attention for bleeding or bloodstains, a temporary replacement may come on. Also coming into use will be electronic boards to display the number of minutes of injury time that will be added on.

In other GAA news, today's Sigerson cup game saw UCD advance to the semi-final stage following a victory over Sligo IT, by 0-13 to 0-11.
