Tipperary's Denis Lynch gave Ireland its only show jumping Grand Prix victory of the weekend, when finishing first at the three-star show in San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy.

The German-based rider, who turned 38 last week, was piloting the chestnut mare Coulisa, whom he added to his top string in 2012.

Lynch saw off German challenger Hans-Dieter Dreher and Embassy II by just over a fifth of a second in the final round of the two-round contest.

Elsewhere, fellow Tipperary rider Shane Breen took ninth place in the three-star Grand Prix at Toulouse in France aboard Farao vt Vennehof, while Michael Duffy finished in 11th on Calido Boy.
