Cian O’Connor has the won showjumping class at Beijing's World Cup, becoming the first non-Chinese competitor to do so.
The Olympic bronze medallist was one of 40 competitors in the class.
The 32-year-old also recorded the only double clear round in the international even.
Due to quarantine restrictions, the Co Meath rider had to go aboard Chinese-based Wavanta. China’s Bian Baciren finished in second place, with Edwin Smits from the Netherlands coming home in third.
Speaking after the event, O'Connor, who has been in China for the last week, said: "I am absolutely thrilled to win this major event here in China and perhaps contribute to the very encouraging relationship which is emerging between China and Ireland in regard to our respective horse industries.”
