Ireland had a win and four top ten places on the opening day on Thursday in the historic Hickstead Derby Meeting in England.
Tipperary's Shane Breen took not only the Derby Qualifier trophy with Magic Fox, but also claimed third place with the Irish-bred Mullaghdrin Gold Rain.
Ger Clarke was runner-up in the 1m45 class with Jake's Dream, while Dave Quigley slotted Diblesse into eighth.
In the feature class, the Bunn Leisure Derby Tankard jump-off, Trevor, the younger of the two Breen brothers at Hickstead, had a seventh place with the bay gelding Adventure de Kannan.
The Hickstead Derby takes place on Sunday afternoon, while the Speed Derby is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
