Conor Swail first in Comporta
Sunday, 21 March 2010 15:28Irish riders and horses swept through Saturday's speed class at Comporta in Portugal, with Conor Swail accounting for both first and fifth places and Tholm Keane taking third.
Co Down-born Swail's first place was accomplished on Patrick Hayse's Cruising mare 'Music Hill Cruise', beating French ace Kevin Staut by half a second, while Waterford's Tholm Keane slotted Ronan Tynan's Irish-bred 'Warrenstown You 2' into third.
Swail then confirmed Irish dominance with a fifth place on the Dutch-bred gelding 'Mojito', which he co-owns with Barry O'Connor, and took home total prize money of €6,000 for his evening's work.
