Speirs best of Irish at Le Lion D'Angers

A clear cross-country round kept 19-year-old Camilla Speirs in the top ten at the World Breeding Championships in France this afternoon.

With the Master Imp gelding 'BT Crew Master', the Kildare-born rider slipped just one place from her position in the Six-Year-Old Event at Le Lion d'Angers after dressage yesterday to complete the course in 10th.

Another clear round from Stuart Crawford and the black Sligo-bred
gelding 'Amacuzzi' left the combination in 17th, while 34-year-old
Sarah Ennis incurred just two penalties to finish the phase in 21st.

In the Seven-Year-Old class, yesterday's Irish leader Sam Watson
dropped to 38th after a high penalty cross-country round on 'GFG Rambo Man', and the Irish pole position was taken by Mark Kyle and 'Coolio', who are now at 19th ahead of tomorrow's show jumping.

Close behind Kyle came Ciaran Glynn with 'Killossery Harvey' in 21st and Melanie Ashe with 'Roll On Dargle' in 23rd.
