Irish competing in Europe this weekend

Eventers make up the majority of Irish riders competing abroad this weekend, with George Russell joining Olympic riders Austin O' Connor, Sacha Pemble and Captain Geoff Curran in four-star action at Luhmuhlen, Germany, while Bramham Park in England sees a total of seven Irish competitors in both of the three-star events.

Olympic veterans Louise Lyons and Mark Kyle will compete alongside Joseph Murphy, Rachel Ferres, Declan Cullen, Michael Owen and Sarah Wardell at the Wetherby venue.

Show jumpers Cameron Hanley and Cian O'Connor, already selected for the next Meydan Nations' Cup team in Rotterdam next week, join Lucy Buchanan at Balve in Germany tomorrow, while in Bulgaria Captain Gerry Flynn continues his eastern European campaign at Albena Beach's two-star show.

Dermott Lennon and Tom Davin are at Portugal's Ponte de Lima show all weekend, while at Roeser in Luxembourg Stephanie O'Daly will be Ireland's sole show jumping representative.
