Twomey sixth in German GP

Cork's Billy Twomey placed the nine year-old stallion 'Je t'Aime
Flamenco' sixth in the Grand Prix at Hagen in Germany this afternoon, a single time fault in the first round marring an otherwise perfect score.

The horse, which won the Grand Prix at Belfast in December of last year and is a contender for a place on the Irish Nations' Cup team at Lummen in Belgium at the beginning of May, was just under three seconds off the pace of Swiss winner Beat Mandli's 'Quanta Costa' at the three-star show.

32-year-old Twomey already had a top ten placing at Hagen on
Friday with 'KEC Maximum Joe' before today's Grand Prix, and slotted the same horse into fifth place with a double clear round in this morning's Small Tour Final.
