Burke best of Irish in Netherlands
Sunday, 2 December 2007 15:14Fifteen-year-old Jessica Burke from Galway was best of the Irish at the Hengelo Grand Prix in the Netherlands on Sunday when
she slotted the chestnut Irish-bred pony European Clover into runner-up position, just 0.09 of a second behind German winner Maurice Tebbel.
Fellow Galway rider, 13-year-old Michael Duffy, also made it through to the 11-horse jump-off on Silver Shadow, riding a double clear in a slightly slower time and settling for sixth place overall, while James Brennan had one fence down in the final round with Ashfield Village to take 10th place.
