Brendan Dolan crashed out of the PDC World Championship after suffering a second-round 4-1 defeat against Gary Anderson on Sunday.

Dolan, the 15th seed, had a poor start and the Fermanagh man soon found himself three sets down against the Scot at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Dolan took the fourth set to stay alive but 2011 finalist Anderson wrapped up victory in the fifth set.

Defeat meant it was the fourth time Dolan had exited the finals at the second round stage, after similar departures in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
