Caroline Ryan raced well in the Women’s points race at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Cali, Colombia, finishing in sixth place.

Ryan rode a controlled first half, before making the main move of the day, taking a lap with six other riders.

Australian Amy Cure won the gold medal, with Stephanie Pohl (GER) taking silver, ahead of Jasmin Glaesser (CAN) in Bronze.

Ryan’s performance concluded Irish involvement in the World Championships, in which Martyn Irvine won silver in the scratch race and Ryan Mullen narrowly missed out on bronze in the individual pursuit.
