Roche set for scan on knee injury

Nicolas Roche will have a scan to determine how long the injury that forced his withdrawal from the Tour De Romandie will keep him out for.
Roche was forced to pull out of the event prior to the start of Stage Four on Saturday with a knee problem. He had picked up third and ninth place finishes in two of the stages to that point.
He told www.irishcycling.com yesterday: 'I am not sure yet what is wrong, but I think I have torn a muscle in the back of my knee. 'It happened in the time trial.
'Last night it was painful, we thought it was muscle knot, but this morning when I woke up it was really painful and swollen behind. We decided that I shouldn’t take any risks and that it was best not to start today.'
Roche will have an MRI scan on the injury on Tuesday.
