O'Loughlin misses out on final

David O'Loughlin finished in eighth place in this afternoon's heats of the 4,000 metres Individual Pursuit at the Track World Cup in Manchester.

O'Loughlin required a top-four finish to qualify for the final, but he finished 11 seconds off the lead. 

Waterford's Ciaran Power, who is mainly a Road Race Rider, took part in the Men's Scratch Race and failed to qualify in his first attempt at this discipline on the track.
