Morgan looking to cement England place

Eoin Morgan believes he is yet to establish his place in the England side despite featuring in the last 10 one-day internationals for his adopted team.

The 23-year-old has been part of the limited-overs set-up for his new country since May when he swapped Ireland in favour of representing England.

His 12 ODIs thus far have yielded three half-centuries, none more memorable than an unbeaten 67 from 34 balls that helped his side win and put hosts South Africa out of the ICC Champions Trophy in September.

Morgan is currently in South Africa for a two-and-a-half month tour and took another huge step in cementing his place in the team with another impressive half-century against the Diamond Eagles yesterday.

He said: 'I'm delighted to be honest. I've got a number of opportunities now throughout the summer and obviously in the Champions Trophy as well.

'I'm pleased to see myself hitting good form and getting runs on the board.'

But he still believes he needs to do more to keep his place, adding: 'I'm far from established, to be honest. I'm only a newcomer in the side and looking to establish myself and looking to move in the right direction with the team.'
