Andy Lee has said it is time for him to “take care of business” as he prepares to face John Jackson for the vacant NABF light middleweight title at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening.

Lee will face Jackson in a ten-round bout on the undercard of Sergio Martinez, WBC and Ring Magazine middleweight champion against Miguel Cotto.

The Limerick fighter said he had had a great training camp ahead of the bout, and was looking forward to fighting at the prestigious venue.

“My preparation is complete and it is now time for me to execute the game plan and take care of business,” Lee said.

“This is a big stage and both my opponent and the occasion have motivated me every day in training.

“I fought at Madison Square Garden in November 2006 and defeated Dennis Sharpe and knocked out former light middleweight world champion Carl Daniels in March 2007 at the MSG Theater.”

At the weigh-in for the fight Lee (32-2, 22 kos) tipped the scales at 154 lb and Jackson (18-1, 15 kos) from St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands weighed 2lbs lighter at 152 lb.
