Andy Lee secured a narrow majority points victory over French fighter Frank Haroche Horta in Denmark.
Lee was awarded the win on a 77-76, 77-76, 76-76 score, and said afterwards that he “needed rounds in [his] first ‘real’ fight in over a year”.
Horta had a 34-12-5 record before the fight, and gave Lee a tough fight, leaving him noticeably marked at the of the eight rounds.
Lee said that Horta had been “tough and determined” and that he gave him his due.
Lee aims to stay busy and ring sharp with a fight pencilled in for Cardiff, Wales on a Matchroom Boxing card on 17 May on the undercard to Lee Selby v Romulo Koasicha and a possible spot on the undercard of Sergio Martinez v Miguel Cotto on June 7 in New York.
