The Irish Amateur Boxing Association are working to confirm an opponent for Olympic champion Katie Taylor for Saturday’s Women’s Elite finals night at the National Stadium in Dublin.
Taylor had been due to meet Alanna Audley-Murphy in the Elite lightweight final, but due to a a bereavement in her family Audley-Murphy has withdrawn from the final.
The Men’s Elite finals will be held on Friday night.
The women’s finals will be decided on Saturday evening.
Taylor, Ceire Smith and Aisling Byrne have received walkovers.
A number of western European nations have been approached to provide an opponent for Taylor for an additional bout on Saturday’s finals program.
