Irish boxer Jason Quigley looks set to make a move into the professional ranks.
The world sliver medallist has decided not to register for this year's National Championships, which get underway this weekend.
The Donegal man missed the deadline for entry yesterday and this would appear to confirm a move to the paid ranks.
However, Quigley is not under any pressure to make his decision with no World or European Championships to qualify for this year.
The highly rated middleweight could decide to opt out of this year's Nationals but return in 2015 and still qualify for the next Worlds and the Olympics in Rio.
It is believed that it is only a matter of time before he makes the switch to the professional ranks.
It would be another blow for Irish amateur boxing after Tommy McCarthy and John Joe Nevin turned professional in recent months.
The Quigley camp were unavailable for comment.
