Olympic champion Katie Taylor will be aiming for her sixth successive lightweight title in Bucharest in June.

The EUBU confirmed that the 2014 European Women’s Elite Championships will be held in the Romanian capital this summer.

These championships will be the ninth edition of the tournament, and will run from 30 May to 8 June.

The Bray woman beat Russia’s Sofya Ochigava – an opponent she beat in the 2012 AIBA World Women’s Elite Championship and London 2012 Olympic finals – in the 2011 European final in the Netherlands.

Taylor claimed her first European Elite gold in Norway in 2005.
