The IABA have named an eight-strong squad to compete in the Ust nad Labem Grand Prix in the Czech Republic.
Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan, bronze medal winners at light-fly and fly at London 2012, have moved up a weight division to fly and bantam for the tournament.
Kilkenny middleweight Darren O’Neill, who captained Team Ireland at the London 2012, will compete at light-heavy.
Conlan, Sean McComb, Ross Hickey, 2012 Olympian Adam Nolan, current European U/23 champion Jason Quigley and Tommy McCarthy are the six current Elite champions in the squad.
“We’re expecting a tough test in the Czech Republic, said Irish head coach Billy Walsh.
“Some of the best nations in Europe will be there and it will be very competitive for our lads throughout the course of the tournament. We had a good training camp at the University of Limerick last week and the squad are looking forward to a quality tournament.”
