Katie Taylor given Rio 2016 ambassadorial role for women's boxing

Katie Taylor has been named the International Boxing Association (AIBA) ambassador for women's boxing worldwide ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Taylor was unveiled by AIBA president Dr Ching Kuo-Wu at their annual awards banquet in Yerevan, Armenia where she also accepted her third AIBA World Female Boxer of the Year to add to her World and Olympics titles picked up this year.
"It is an honour for me to be nominated AIBA women's boxing ambassador", said the Bray boxer. "I want to help elevate women's boxing to ensure it sits at the pinnacle of sporting achievement."
For the second time, Michael Gallagher from was presented with the AIBA World Referee and Judge (R&J) award.
