Carl Frampton produced a brilliant display to win the vacant Commonwealth super-bantamweight title at the Odyssey Arena, beating Mark Quon with a fourth-round stoppage.

Quon was a late replacement for the fight after Kiko Martinez’s withdrawal and offered little, showing little in terms of power and aggression against the dominant Frampton.

The 24-year-old Belfast man was always in charge and finally made it count when he floored the off-balance Quon in the fourth round.

Frampton sensed victory and after a powerful onslaught the referee intervened to hand Frampton the first title of his career.

Speaking after the bout, the home boxer targetted a clash with Martinez for a European title in his next bout.
