Katie Taylor advances in Czech Republic

World lightweight champion Katie Taylor is through to the last four of the Usti nad Labem Grand Prix 60kg category after another victory in the Czech Republic on Thursday.

Taylor beat Italian southpaw Marzia Davide 8-0, but there was disappointment for her Irish team-mate Sinead Kavanagh, who lost out on a countback after finishing level at 2-2 with Bulgarian Desisvala Lazarova

Taylor, who has yet to concede a point in two bouts at the tournament, will now meet 2006 World Bantamweight champion Sofya Ochigava of Russia in Friday's 60Kg semi-final.

Cheng Dong is through to the corresponding semi-final in Usti nad Labem.

The win was Taylor's 42nd in-a-row and her 63rd victory in 64 contests at international level.
