UL Eagles have appointed Mark Bernsen as coach for the forthcoming Nivea For Men’s SuperLeague season.
Bernsen brings an impressive CV to last season’s beaten league finalists, having lead Tralee Tigers to the league crown in 2008 and subsequently being named national coach of the year that summer.
Mark has extensive coaching experience in his native US, including stints in high school, community college, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division I as well as coaching in professional basketball in recent years.
UL Eagles enjoyed a hugely successful campaign last term, reaching the final of the Nivea For Men’s SuperLeague before suffering defeat to Killester at the National Basketball Arena.
‘Mark will bring a wealth of basketball experience to the UL Eagles and will be keen to build further on the Eagles performance of last season,’ said UL Eagles PRO John King.
‘There is just about one month to go before the first game in the league and we are looking forward to welcoming Mark to Limerick.’
