European 60-metre hurdles gold medallist Nevin Yanit from Turkey has been charged with doping violations.

If convicted, the athlete will be stripped of the medal she won in Gothenburg in March and Derval O'Rourke, who finished fourth in that race, will be promoted to the bronze medal position.

The reigning Olympic 1500 metre champion Asli Cakir Alp-tekin, also from Turkey, has also been charged.

Both cases have been referred to the Turkish athletic federation.
