David McCarthy makes time for European Indoor Championships

David McCarthy has become the latest athlete to achieve the Athletics Ireland performance standard for next month's European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden.
McCarthy was competing in the 3,000m event in Boston last night and finished close to nine seconds inside the qualifying standard for the Europeans.
The championships take place from 1-3 March.
