Contingency plans made for Kenyan athletes

The death of another Kenyan athlete in the continued tribal violence in the East African country has prompted two of the top agents in world athletics to make contingency plans to get their athletes to safer bases.

Irish agent Ricky Simms and Italian Federico Rosa are preparing accommodation bases in Europe after the death of marathon runner Wesley Ngetich on Monday.

Ngetich was killed by a poison arrow to the chest on Monday.

Former Olympian Lucas Sang was killed on New Years Day in Eldoret and last year's World Marathon Champion Luke Kibet suffered serious head injuries in an attack on 29 December.
