Campbell wins Dublin City triathlon

Brian Campbell has won the Gatorade Dublin City Triathlon which took place in the Phoenix Park and Islandbridge on Saturday. He completed the course in 2 hours and 9 minutes.

Over 800 competitors from Irish and international competitors took part in the race, swimming 1500 metres in the River Liffey and cycling 40km and running 10km in the Phoenix Park.

While elite athletes finished this Olympic distance triathlon in two hours, tough personal battles were also fought by those whose goal was simply to finish this test of stamina and willpower or to raise money for their chosen charity with some amateur competitors completing the course in times of three to five hours.
