Els set for South Africa return

Triple major winner Ernie Els will return to his native South Africa to compete in next month's Alfred Dunhill Championship, the opening event of the 2009-10 European Tour season.

Among the other players competing in the tournament will be 2007 champion Alvaro Quiros of Spain, Ireland's Paul McGinley and holder Richard Sterne of South Africa.

World number 17 Els, who is now based in the United States, has a good record at the Leopard Creek Golf Club in Mpumalanga, having triumphed once and finished in the top 10 in three of his last five visits.

The Dunhill event, also sanctioned by the domestic Sunshine Tour, will be held from 10-13 December.
