Pressure growing on Limerick boss
Pressure is growing on Justin McCarthy with several national newspapers reporting the huge unrest in the Limerick camp ahead of the new season.
Damien Reale, James Ryan, Brian Geary, Donal O'Grady, Seamus Hickey and Wayne McNamara have left the panel after McCarthy dropped a dozen regular players before a winter training camp.
There had been suggestion that the players were omitted by McCarthy due to a lack of discipline, but this claim has been refuted by recently retired player Ollie Moran.
Moran told the Irish Independent: 'I'm seething and shocked at the insinuation that those guys lacked commitment. Ask any previous trainer or manager; all the guys named are totally committed, both to their club and county.'
The Limerick County Board are not due to meet again until 7 December, but they may call an emergency sitting to discuss the crisis.
