West Ham United v Blackburn Rovers team news

Teddy Sheringham could take his place in the West Ham team to face Blackburn on Sunday despite suffering knee trouble this week.

The former England striker missed training yesterday but manager Alan Pardew remains confident that he will recover in time to be included in the squad for the Upton Park clash.

Defenders James Collins and Tyrone Mears, winger Yossi Benayoun and midfielder Lee Bowyer all trained during the week and should be in the squad, but Argentinean forward Carlos Tevez is still out with a knee injury.

Striker Dean Ashton remains a long-term injury casualty.

Striker Shabani Nonda is Blackburn's biggest injury worry ahead of Sunday's Barclays Premiership trip to West Ham.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international, signed on loan from AS Roma in the summer, was carried off on a stretcher during his side's 2-0 midweek Carling Cup defeat to Chelsea.

An x-ray on his shin has not revealed any serious damage but manager Mark Hughes is not confident the 29-year-old will have recovered in time to travel to Upton Park.

However, Morten Gamst Pedersen's twisted ankle, sustained on Wednesday, should not affect his participation.

West Ham United: Carroll, Green, Walker, Gabbidon, Ferdinand, Konchesky, Spector, Dailly, Pantsil, Mears, McCartney, Benayoun, Mullins, Mascherano, Reo-Coker, Sheringham, Cole, Harewood, Zamora.

Blackburn Rovers: Friedel, Neill, Khizanishvili, Tugay, Emerton, Savage, Bentley, Nonda, McCarthy, Pedersen, Mokoena, Jeffers, Gallagher, Ooijer, Brown, Gray, Peter, McEveley, Roberts.
