Mixed injury news for Munster

There was mixed news for Munster coach Declan Kidney on the medical front after last Saturday's Magners League win over Ulster at Musgrave Park.

Christian Cullen had a scan on his injured shoulder and will have a further one later today - it is believed the injury is not as bad as first feared.

Meanwhile, Anthony Horgan has suffered some cartilage damage to his knee and will see a specialist later this week to get a clearer picture.

Shaun Payne is suffering from a bruised hip, while Ian Dowling suffered a hamstring strain.

Both are included in the 25-man squad ahead of Friday night's game against Leinster at Lansdowne Road, kick-off 7.30pm, but are rated only 50/50.

Separately, the 12th Heineken Cup will be launched simultaneously in Paris and Cork today.

16,000 tickets have already been sold for the final which takes place in Twickenham on Sunday, 20 May. The newly-expanded stadium has an increased capacity of 82,000.

Munster are the defending champions and they face stiff opposition if they are to successfully defend their title.
