Le Tallec joins Sochaux on loan from Liverpool

French striker Anthony Le Tallec has joined Sochaux on loan from Liverpool, the Ligue 1 club said this afternoon.

The Under-21 international has been loaned to Sochaux for a year, after which the French side will have an option to buy him.

The 21-year-old moved to Liverpool from Le Havre in 2003 but failed to make an impact. He played for Sunderland last season but remained on the books at Liverpool.

Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League in May after a season that produced just three wins.
